Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) is a macromolecule that stores the genetic information in living organisms. It is known for its double helix structure consisting of two strands running antiparallel to each other. Each strand has a backbone made of sugar (deoxyribose) and phosphate groups, and a nitrogenous base is attached to each of the sugars. The two antiparallel strands are connected by hydrogen bonds between the nitrogenous bases.
