About the Poison Pie Publishing House.

The Poison Pie Publishing House is an independent publisher specializing in post-existential fantasy generated through a non-idiomatic improvisational creative process. The literary products primarily take the form of novels and of illustrated books, the former intended for adults and the latter for both children and adventurous adults. The Poison Pie Publishing House is responsible for the public distribution of the literary and creative works of David J. Keffer. This site was expanded in September, 2012 in order to better represent the publication of novels and illustrated stories in ebook and print form.

An Early History of the Poison Pie Publishing House

A meandering account of the earlier history of the Poison Pie Publishing House, dating back to 1998 and proceeding up through June, 2012 is available here. Note that there are flaws in this history. Particularly, with the recovery of the manuscript of the novel, A Memory of Fire, it is clear that the first literary appearance of Poison Pie is in that 1997 novel, and not in the short story, The Ridiculously Sad Sasquatch (1998), or the illustrated story, Poison Pie in the National Park (1999), as erroneously reported in this history.

Independent Book Publishers Association

The Poison Pie Publishing House was a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association from May, 2015 to May, 2016. "Established in 1983, the IBPA is a not-for-profit membership organization serving and leading the indie publishing community through advocacy, education, and tools for success. With nearly 3,000 members, IBPA is the largest publishing trade association in the U.S." However, the staff of the PPPH allowed their membership to lapse. They proved unable to decipher the onslaught of emails received from the IBPA offering various marketing services for fees generally ranging from $100 to $1000. Most of the solicitations provided only anecdotal testimonials that the services being offered were anything more than a literary version of a pyramid scheme.
