The inhabitants of Faerie understand that a journey and a destination are two entirely separate entities, connected only by the happenstance that the latter follows the former. In Faerie, one follows woodland paths of dirt and stone, passing through arches of forested color. If the traveler even entertains the notion of a particular destination, it is subject to change not only due to the whims of the traveler but the convoluted vagaries of the paths themselves, delivering one to unexpected locales or simply prolonging the passage in an ever evolving labyrinth that as likely as not ejects one back at one's starting point. Losing one's way is therefore an opportunity to arrive at an unexpected place, a defiant if unintentional parry struck in the cause of spontaneity, a defeat of the powers promoting predetermined rituals and routines, in short, a cause for celebration.

"Oh, I have been celebrating a long time, decades in fact! My friends in Faerie will vouchsafe this passage."
