Not long ago Jim Love found himself telling a friend that he, Love, had "cried sheep once too often." He cites this to his own discredit, as a lapsus linguae. I take it to be, rather, a happy instance of the artist's transformational prowess. Any fool can cry wolf; to cry sheep is inspired, the work of a subtle, contradancing mind.
