was collected in The Simple Truth. One of only 12 copies produced, all hors commerce, this being 1 of 3
Artist's Proofs signed by Levine & the printer/artist, Lynne Avadenka, & one of only two copies printed on Goyu paper.
Produced in conjunction with the 1994 Arts Achievement Award at Wayne State University (Levine's alma mater),
nine copies were presented to the recipients of the award, the printer retained one Artist's Proof & Levine received two,
with this copy being one of those given to the poet. Accompanied by an ALS, 2 pages, from Avadenka,
accounting for the different issues & noting that only the Artist's Proofs were signed by both Avadenka & Levine;
all the other copies were signed only by Avadenka.
In addition, only Levine's copies were printed on Goyu paper with Twinrocker Black Linen paper for endsheets & covers;
all the other copies were printed on Twinrocker Cream paper with Twinrocker Black Denim for the endsheets & covers.
So far as we are aware, the rarest of Levine's publications, & certainly one of the most beautiful.
