Request for Help:   This is an email from Bill Arning, LVAC Curator, who needs help getting Haino from NYC to Boston. If you fancy the opportunity for some significant one-on-one time with Haino, please let Bill know.

I am the curator at the MIT List visual arts center and we have a Keiji Haino live film screening with Cameron Jamie next week. Haino is coming into NY for No-Fun and he will come up to do one of their live film evenings here on Thursday the 17th. Unfortunately we thought he could take Amtrak after being picked up at Kennedy, and now we have found out he needs to be picked up at the airport and driven. We do not have it in the budget for a car service up and back and are looking for someone willing to pick Haino up at the airport on the morning of the sixteenth and drive him to Boston. I can put them up for the night of the 16th and 17th, they can attend the performance and return him to NY on the 18th. We can afford $600.00 plus gas. can you please post this somewhere where Haino fans can help, and my contact information is below. Thanks, the last time Haino was scheduled for Boston there was a VISA problem so his fans here would be very sad if this were to fall through.

Live Dates:   Rumor has it that Haino and Akita Masami (aka Merzbow) will be performing as a duo in NYC, Canada (FIMAV 2007), Cologne and Moers in May, 2007. In the second half of 2004, they performed featuring Akita Masami on electronics and Haino on voice, percussion and electronics at a couple venues in Tokyo. At that time, the duo went by the name Kikuri. If the 2004 shows are any indication, expect cacophonic results. Further details posted when they become available.

Haino is confirmed to be part of the line-up of the "No Fun Fest 2007" to be held in Brooklyn running from May 17-20, 2007. Whether this is separate from the NYC show with Akita Masami is unknown. Merzbow is listed as a participant in the "No Fun Fest 2007".

Haino is performing a live soundtrack to a Musical titled The Whole World Is Watching at the Berliner Festspiele playing nightly from March 21 to 25. More details on these latter two events including links to the festival websites are available on the 2007 Live Dates page of this site.
